Revival for the Remnant
Revival for the Remnant, this is our theme for this year’s revival, March 8, 9, & 10. Last year, March 9, 10, & 11, we had “Restoration Revival”, with Scripture from Psalm 80:3 “Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.” 85:4 “Restore us again, God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us.”, and 126:4-6 “Restore our fortunes Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”, we were all looking for God to “Restore” us to the place He wanted us to be. Of course to gain this providential position we had to be willing to repent of our sins. Apparently we didn’t confess all our sins, because “covid” was laid on us as an attention getter. We had not returned to God, in submission, in a true repentant heartfelt sorrow, acknowledging God as Sovereign. Oh we wanted to be restored to our position of smooth sailing with no rocking of the boat, no sacrifice, no reflection of just how worthless we had become as a church body. John writes in Revelation 2:3-5 God’s Words against the church at Ephesus which we can compare ourselves with: “You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place.” So we have forgotten just where we are called to be, maybe where we once were not so long ago. But we stand the chance to lose our favored position, chosen to do the work. We work not for our glory, but for His Glory…this is where we have lost our way, lost our focus, we have stopped seeking to please our Father, we have stopped DESIRING Him. There were just a few of the original remnant left after the Exodus and upon the arrival in the Promised Land. But God, being faithful, made a great nation of His people true Israel. We are part of that true Israel if we remember to repent, and turn, then, God will heal our land. Father God have Mercy on us in our sin. Restore us after we repent and use us as your Remnant, for your glory. Amen.
