Consider Advent, and why.

Consider Advent, and why.
The meaning of Advent for us as Christians is to celebrate the coming of Christ. While this activity is more geared toward Christmas and Christ’s first coming as the appointed and anointed Savior, it’s meaning can also call to our attention His Second Coming. The noun “advent” means “coming”. So therefore it can be meant to celebrate both events.
Both the First and Second coming are important. Without the First coming of Jesus as the Babe, there would be no need to look for the Second coming as Judge. The reason he is coming the Second time as Judge is because his First manifestation was the offer of free Grace and Mercy to escape the Wrath that will be carried out against all who deny His First Coming.
If we celebrate His coming in both instances, we are affirming Jesus as man, God and redeemer. This reality causes us to rejoice greatly because we know how sinful we are and how holy He is…He is Merciful too.
But today many so called Christ followers have decided to deny the Authority and Sovereignty of Jesus on earth. They have decided to offer man, or the government of man, the right to instill their will on the righteous, religious freedom that all men have from above.
God demands, and rightly so, for us to Worship Him with all our hearts, minds and soul. God has prescribed the methods and ways in which to do this praising and honoring. It is commanded by Him, and all who fear Him and love Him will obey.
Yet the Christian has crumbled under little pressure and no real persecution, and follow the mandates, not laws, to not meet in the Worship service of the One True God.
In light of the Second coming of Christ, we had better decide today “Who we will serve”.
“Thus speaketh Christ our Lord unto us; ye call Me Master and obey Me not, ye call Me Light and see Me not, ye call Me Way and walk Me not, ye call Me Life and desire Me not, ye call Me Wise and follow Me not, ye call Me Fair and love Me not, ye call Me Rich and ask Me not, ye call Me Eternal and seek Me not, ye call Me Gracious and trust Me not, ye call Me Noble and serve Me not, ye call Me Mighty and honor Me not, ye call me Just and fear Me not. If I condemn you, blame me not.”
Wise words in a day lacking wisdom.
